This double homologated flip-up helmet has the design of a 'normal' full-face helmet and surprises you by flipping up without any problems and turning into a very good flip-up helmet.
Double homologation, versatility and - typical for AGV – well-finished in many areas. This is definitely a very good candidate. For whatever, actually.
The Compact ST - shown here in striking black and white - has a helmet shell in High Resistance Thermoplastic. All words that inspire confidence when they are in a helmet material. The helmet shell contains all helmet sizes. That's a little bit atypical of AGV - where they like a lot of helmet shells - but of course that's where the modularity of this Compact ST comes in for the most part. The scales indicate 1750 grams. Not surprising, with the dual homologation, two visors and a separate locking mechanism in the open position, all in one helmet shell.
Four front vents are easily controlled by three sliders. On the chin it's a double opening, while at the top you can adjust left and right separately. With gloves, that's no problem.
There's quite a bit to tell about the interior: the cheek pads are specifically designed to make putting on the motorbike helmet (and vice versa) go smoothly, without much play. They are equipped with a safety system to remove them quickly in case of emergency. The entire interior is antibacterial, washable, sweat-absorbent, soft, pleasant and well thought out: glasses-wearers will have no problems and with a removable wind deflector you have the possibility to customize the Compact ST. Fitting a communication system should be easy.
Special attention was paid to the visor. Anti-scratch, with a patented Extra Microlock System. The Pinlock® lens is included. ‘Ultravision' is an important feature of every AGV motorcycle helmet: 190° horizontally and 85° vertically, according to the Italians these are the coordinates which best fit your field of vision. Good for a wide view on the road, curves and possible obstacles. Experience teaches us that it is mainly the speed of information processing, in addition to a good viewing technique in the less professional circles that makes the difference, although it certainly can't hurt.
The integrated sun visor is operated with your left hand, at the height of the visor mechanism. On the right you'll find an identical system, which activates the (obligatory) metal closure in order to be able to ride in the open position. Double homologation: it's still a real masterpiece.
The soft and nicely designed micrometric closure is adjustable and fits perfectly into the very neatly finished, wide neck rim, which ends in a wind curtain chin.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
