REV'IT developed a somewhat exceptional leather motorcycle jacket with the Glide. Right in the middle between everyday street use and sporty racing vibes. On the way to work, with MotoGP technology on board, that sort of thing.
Now what if that Glide becomes the one extreme, and you put a vintage leather retro jacket on the other side? And you take the middle of that again?
Exactly: the Glide Vintage Jacket. A crossover is what it's called in certain circles. And it fits in perfectly with REV'IT's urban collection, where the line between motorcycle apparel and simply being stylish is becoming increasingly blurred.
The SEESMART™ protectors at the elbows and shoulders are thin enough not to be too noticeable. A SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector - Type RV is optional. Unlike classic 'urban' leather jackets, the Glide Vintage is clearly more like a motorcycle jacket. The REV'IT!-logo and the racing style, including shoulder pads, are hard to miss. Certainly not in the brown version.
Not that it's a bad thing. On the contrary. In both the brown and the all-black version, this remains first and foremost a sleek, sharply cut and sporty jacket. One that will take you a long way, because the removable body warmer offers possibilities. Of course, you shouldn't expect miracles from a jacket made mainly of cowhide leather, with enough stretch for comfort and convenience. Waterproof, bitter cold, there are other options. But - and that's an advantage - you can't pretend to be a fashion conscious, trendy, urban person with those other options. With a fondness for vintage. Or retro.
There aren't many customisation options. A belt with snaps at the waist is enough, and at the sleeve ends you can choose whether you want to wear your motorcycle gloves above or below the jacket. You might combine the Glide Vintage with a tough pair of motorcycle jeans, which can be zipped up using the Safeway 2 Belt.
