The REV'IT Convex Jacket takes its inspiration from the world of motorcycle racing, but doesn't overdo it, and combines that with a bunch of functionalities and a competitive price. A sporty and daily wearable jacket for fans.
And make no mistake: there are still a lot of elements present that can be found in a full race suit. The monaco performance cowhide leather that makes up the largest part of the jacket, is also used by REV'IT in their one-piece suits, so you'll be fine in terms of wear and tear resistance. The leather is highly perforated, and with the addition of large mesh panels on the back, arms, and shoulders, the result is quite a breathable jacket. Ideal for summer rides, and even if it suddenly cools down early in the morning or late at night, a removable thermal bodywarmer will certainly help. PWR|Power Shell is REV'IT at its best: high-strength stretch material inside the sleeves provides a high degree of protection, but also allows for comfortable movement. Adjustment options include zippers at the sleeve ends and leather velcro tabs at the waist. The collar closes with a press button. Okay, the Convex is not waterproof, but that's not what you should expect from leather that prioritizes ventilation.
What makes the Convex different from 'the real deal'? The shoulder blades are TPU and the SEEFLEX level 2 CE-protectors on the shoulders and elbows are about the best you can find on the street, and those who wish can easily install a SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector. No chest protection and no elbow pads. It all stays top of the bill, if you stay on public roads.
The reflective logos on the chest and back show that the Convex will be used more often on public roads anyway. And yes, you'll have to look twice at the reflection, but be sure: it works. Two zippered side pockets provide a bit of storage space, although you can't forget that a race-inspired jacket should be tight. Like a second skin. So you don't want to carry a lot of stuff.
A long and short connection zipper and a Belt Loop make it perfectly doable to combine the jacket. Motorbike jeans would be our first choice, but for those who prefer a full leather look, REV'IT offers the Apex GT.
