Something with H2O in the name, rightly suggests that you can assume waterproofing. In this case it is combined with a sleek, black, urban, naked bike look. 'The dark side of Japan' in clothing version, we think.
Just to be clear: the dark side of Japan is the common thread in Yamaha's MT range: short, chequered streetfighters with various lung capacities that have one big goal: to have fun with riding and flying. And of course you shouldn't do that in a touring jacket or - god forbid - a lumberjack shirt. No, you need a black, sporty and very sleek look and this Shift H2O meets that perfectly.
Cut short, as is not uncommon with REV'IT, the Shift is allowed to be quite tight. Not race suit tight, but make no mistake: this is high-level comfort. Shift is made of 600D polyester, which provides a solid dose of abrasion resistance at the shoulders and sleeves, and is complemented with PWR|Shell stretch metal. And yes, that looks like softshell but no, it's not. This is a full-fledged motorcycle jacket with a very high level of protection.
The Hydratex membrane - also the reason why the H2O is rightly mentioned in the name - is non-removable. The thermal lining can be removed and now you know that the use of this jacket is very elaborate. Summer to winter and everything in between, as long as you don't seek out the fiercest extremes, this jacket will go a long way. VCS ventilation zippers (upper arms and back) even allow for extra riding wind when needed.
Everything is black. Tough. Tone on tone black, with an eye for detail, because the different materials provide enough nuances to still be striking. The TPU shoulder strap adds a sporty touch. SEEFLEX level 2 CE-protectors on shoulders and elbows are standard, and those who wish can easily install a SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector.
The Shift H2O is also prepared to contain a SEESOFT CE-level 1 chest protector. The reflective material is subtle (during the day for sure!) but definitely present.
You can customize it yourself, thanks to the wide velcro strips with loop on the waist, the double snaps on the upper arms and the zippers on the sleeve ends. Two zippered side pockets provide a bit of storage space, and you'll find an additional inner pocket in the thermal liner.
The Shift H2O has a short connection zipper and a double Belt Loop. The combination with a good pair of motorcycle jeans seems an obvious choice.
