ALPINESTARS Missile V3 2PC Suit Black-White

The "Type" specification indicates whether the motorcycle suit consists of a single piece or of a separate jacket and trousers that can be connected together.

Possible options:

• One-piece – the jacket and trousers form a single unit. A one-piece motorcycle suit offers an optimal fit and the highest level of protection, as there is no gap between the jacket and trousers. It is the standard choice for track riding and is mandatory at many races and some track days. Many sporty road riders also prefer a one-piece suit for its maximum level of protection.
• Two-piece – the motorcycle suit consists of a separate jacket and trousers connected by a full-circumference zipper. Two-piece suits are popular because they combine the sporty look of a one-piece racing suit with the flexibility and comfort of a separate jacket and trousers, while sacrificing very little in terms of protection.

The “Gender” specification indicates who the motorcycle suit is designed for. This has a direct impact on the fit and cut of the model.

• Men: motorcycle suits for men are designed with a fit tailored to the male physique, focusing on comfort and freedom of movement.
• Women: women's models are tailored to the female body shape and combine a specific fit with comfort and style.

This specification indicates how well the motorcycle suit protects against wind and rain.

• Waterproof: the suit has a waterproof membrane, offering full protection against wind and rain.
• Not waterproof: the suit provides no protection against rain and is only suitable for dry conditions.

The "Lining" specification indicates the type of inner lining used in the motorcycle suit.

Leather motorcycle suits are almost always equipped with a lightweight mesh lining. This breathable lining improves comfort, promotes airflow and makes the suit easier to put on and take off. As leather suits are primarily intended for sporty riding and fair-weather use, a thermal lining is generally not required.

Possible options:

• None – the motorcycle suit is not fitted with an inner lining.
• Non-removable mesh lining – the breathable mesh lining is permanently attached to the suit.
• Removable mesh lining – the breathable mesh lining can be removed for easy washing. This is particularly useful during intensive or sporty riding, where the suit is regularly exposed to perspiration.

The certification class indicates the European safety standard to which the motorcycle suit is certified. The class shows how protective the suit is in case of a fall or impact. There are three levels:

• AAA: the highest protection level, providing maximum abrasion resistance and impact protection. These suits often use stiffer, double, or reinforced fabrics and leather for optimal safety. Naturally, this comes with a higher price and slightly less flexibility.
• AA: a balance between safety and comfort. The suit still offers good protection with less stiff fabrics, making it more comfortable for longer rides and available at a mid-range price.
• A: this level provides basic protection with soft, comfortable fabrics suitable for daily or urban use. These suits are more budget-friendly but less suited for high speeds or intensive highway use.

Shoulder protectors significantly enhance the safety of a motorcycle suit. They are designed to absorb impact on the shoulders in the event of a fall or collision.

They come in different protection levels: level 1 protectors are thinner and more flexible, providing comfort during wear, while level 2 protectors offer more impact absorption and protection, but are generally thicker and stiffer.

Shoulder protectors are always included in a CE-approved suit, and in some models, they can also be removed and/or replaced for added flexibility.

Elbow protectors contribute to the overall safety of a motorcycle suit. They are designed to absorb impact on the elbows in the event of a fall or collision.

They come in different protection levels: level 1 protectors are thinner and more flexible, providing comfort during wear, while level 2 protectors offer more impact absorption and protection, but are generally thicker and stiffer.

Elbow protectors are always included in a CE-approved suit, and in some models, they can also be removed and/or replaced for added flexibility.

The "Back protector" specification clarifies the protection provided at the back. A back protector is designed to absorb impact to the spine in the event of a fall or collision, significantly reducing the risk of serious back injuries. All CE-certified motorcycle suits can accommodate a back protector.

Generally, a back protector is not supplied as standard, allowing you to freely choose between a Level 1 protector or a Level 2. Level 1 protectors are thinner and more flexible, providing comfort during wear, while Level 2 protectors offer more impact absorption and protection, but are generally thicker and stiffer.

If a jacket is supplied without a back protector, the product page of the suit shows which back protector is compatible.

Hip protectors provide additional protection in the event of a fall and help reduce the risk of hip injuries. The available options are:

• No: the motorcycle suit does not include hip protectors.
• Yes: the motorcycle suit is equipped with hip protectors that comply with the European CE standard and are certified to Level 1 or Level 2. In some cases, the brand of the protectors is also specified.
• No, prepared for CE-approved protectors: the motorcycle suit is fitted with pockets to accommodate CE-approved hip protectors, allowing the level of protection to be upgraded if desired.

Knee protectors provide additional protection to the knees in case of a fall or impact. When present, these protectors comply with the European CE standard and are certified Level 1 or Level 2, with Level 2 offering a higher level of protection. The protector brand may also be specified.

Coccyx (tailbone) protection provides extra safety in case of a fall by reducing the impact on the tailbone.

Knee sliders are wear components attached to the knees of motorcycle suits. They protect the suit and allow the rider to make controlled contact with the road during sporty riding, such as on a track. The options are:

• Yes, removable: the suit is equipped with knee sliders that can be removed or replaced.
• No: the suit is not equipped with knee sliders.

"Ventilation" indicates which ventilation options the motorcycle suit offers. Ventilation helps regulate airflow and increases comfort during warm or intense rides.

• Perforated: small perforations in the leather provide ventilation and a subtle cooling effect.
• Not ventilated: the suit has no ventilation options and is completely closed.

The connection zipper of a motorcycle pant allows the pant to be zipped to a matching jacket for extra protection and windproofing. Note: not every jacket fits every pant, as the length, teeth type, and zipper design can vary by brand.

An adjustable waist allows the pant to fit better and remain comfortable while riding. The options are:

• Yes: the pant has an adjustable waist, allowing you to customize the fit.
• No: the pant does not have an adjustable waist and the fit is fixed.

How the sleeves of a motorcycle suit close at the wrists affects both comfort and protection. A secure closure keeps wind, rain, and cold out and prevents the sleeves from riding up in the event of a fall. This can be achieved using snap buttons, zippers, Velcro, elastic material, or a combination of these methods, depending on the model.

Height-adjustable knee protectors allow you to adjust the position of the knee protection according to your body length, ensuring optimal safety while riding. The options are:

• Yes: the knee protectors are height-adjustable for a better fit and optimal protection.
• No: the knee protectors have a fixed position and cannot be adjusted in height.

A leg zipper is located at the bottom of the pant leg and along the side of the leg. It allows the pant leg to be opened, making it easier to put the pants on and take them off.

• Side zipper up to below the knee: the zipper runs from the bottom hem of the pants to just below the knee for easy dressing and undressing.
• Side zipper up to above the knee: the zipper extends above the knee, suitable for pants that need a wider opening.
• None: the pants do not have a zipper or velcro closure at the bottom of the legs.

Stretch zones in a motorcycle suit consist of elastic panels or ribs that stretch with every movement. They provide greater freedom of movement and comfort while riding.

This specification indicates the color(s) of the motorcycle suit. Color mainly affects the appearance and style of the .

The outer material of a motorcycle suit determines its durability, protection, and comfort. Each material offers its own combination of abrasion resistance, flexibility, and weather resistance.

Reflective material in the outer layer of the motorcycle suit increases the rider’s visibility in the dark. This can make a significant difference for safety, especially on poorly lit roads or during evening and night rides. A fluorescent vest worn over the suit is still the most effective way to maximize visibility.
