Finding the perfect motorcycle helmet size for children is not always straightforward. And even if the motorcycle helmet fits perfectly today, that may no longer be the case next month.
The HJC Y10 full-face helmet for children does not solve that – children naturally keep growing – but with interchangeable cheek pads, things become much simpler. They are available in different thicknesses, so you can adjust the fit of this children's motorcycle helmet as the head grows.
HJC Y10 consists of a polycarbonate composite. That is exactly the same material choice used in 'adult' motorcycle helmets when weight needs to stay low. This is not a toy helmet by any means. On the contrary: the HJC Y10 is an aerodynamic motorcycle helmet that, at 1250 grams, fitting perfectly on younger, narrower shoulders. Comfortable rear passenger seating is no luxury.
At the front (chin) and top, ventilation openings ensure smooth fresh air flow. This pushes any heat and moisture out through the rear outlets. Keeping your head cool on a motorcycle – both as a small pillion rider or rider – remains crucial.
The clear visor is Pinlock-ready, scratch-resistant and offers 99% UV protection. There is no integrated sun visor, but with various visor options (including a mirrored one), the possibilities are broad and diverse enough.
The micrometric buckle makes opening and closing simple, even for children who want to do it themselves. It completes the comfortable, moisture-wicking lining that is removable and washable.
The HJC Y10 is prepared for Bluetooth systems, should communication on the move be desired.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. In rainy weather this effect is even more pronounced. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to bring a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
