The Ceramic Protection Kit from Muc-Off includes 15 ml of ceramic coating, 50 ml of surface preparation spray, a microfibre cloth ‘applicator pad’ (we’ll explain), and two microfibre polishing cloths.
With all that, you can apply a silicone-based protective layer to your motorcycle (and bicycle, too). That coating will last up to two years (!) if applied correctly and if you keep your bike properly cleaned afterwards. During that time, the ceramic coating – because that’s exactly what it is – delivers maximum water and dirt-repellent properties. It also offers UV protection to prevent paint fade in direct sunlight, and helps reduce the risk of micro-scratches.
And all of that with a mere 15 ml.
So, that 15 ml packs a punch. Suitable for gloss and matte finishes, it can be used on paintwork, carbon fibre, metal parts, wheels, vinyl, and hard plastic trim. It adds shine, and (on matte surfaces) gives a deeper, richer tone.
Read first, then apply
Always go through the instructions first. We’ll give you a starting point below, but reading through everything calmly is strongly recommended.
To apply the Muc-Off silicone protective layer from this ceramic protection kit, start with the included surface prep spray. Apply a small amount to a microfibre cloth and ‘treat’ the entire surface. Only then will the ceramic coating be able to bond properly.
Drip – a little goes a long way – a small amount of ceramic coating onto the microfibre ‘applicator pad’ and gently work it into the surface in overlapping passes. Think of the microfibre applicator pad as a big, soft thimble or a tiny wash mitt. It sounds more complicated than it is, but we have to admit – it’s a handy little tool.
You won’t need to reapply the ceramic coating often, and your cleaning routine will get quicker, but do take your time with this step. Clean your motorcycle, let it dry thoroughly, use the prep spray, and then apply the coating sparingly and with precision. Use the proper tools – that’s what this kit is for – and know that you’re laying down a finish that’ll preserve both perfection and any imperfections for up to two years.
Always wear gloves when handling these types of products. Drinking it, pouring it in your eyes, or getting it on your skin? Not a great idea. Enjoy the process, take pride in knowing your (motor)bike is now well-protected, and… read the instructions at least one more time – properly – before you start.
