This helmet comes standard with a clear visor. Tinted and mirrored visors are available as option.
Anyone who sees the 'S' with double scorpion tail knows that a sporty designs and a light, modern helmet come together perfectly in this SCORPION EXO-520 Air. This is an aerodynamic full-face helmet with integrated sun visor and supplied Pinlock® lens, at a competitive price.
The helmet shell is polycarbonate and all helmet sizes are divided over three helmet shells, resulting in 1550 grams. That seems more than what it feels like and with all its features, that’s all in all within reason. The aerodynamic lines of the narrow looking SCORPION EXO-520 Air are sharp and accentuate the vents.
The double chin vents are easy to operate with one big push, both with and without gloves. The top ventilation is also easy to find. The incoming air cools the helmet and then disappears through the rear air outlet. This is incorporated in a small spoiler that always remains open.
Inside the helmet the airflow comes into contact with air cushions which have a different role to play. SCORPION's Airfit system is an extra which we very much like. An air pump in the chin piece inflates the cheek pads to your liking. The valve next to the pump allows the air to escape.
This is somewhere between touring and sportsmanship. SCORPION - Asian with a European twist - uses a number of typical words and terms which we would like to explain to you.
The Ellip Tec II system is the SCORPION name for the visor attachment system. The present transparent visor is easy to operate and has a central locking device at the front which opens almost automatically and very instinctively, and automatically 'locks' when you close the visor far enough. The tight fit should guarantee a clear view even in wet conditions. A Pinlock® lens with Maxvision is included with the motorcycle helmet.
With the term 'Speedview' SCORPION is looking in the direction of an integrated sun visor. The slider can be found on the left, just behind the hinge point of the transparent visor. Up and down, it doesn't get any easier.
Kwickwick 2 is about the interior: fully removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture management in a way that is more than reassuring. Even in warm conditions, by the way. When you read the word 'Kwikfit' in a text about SCORPION motorbike helmets, as a glasses-wearer you know that you can rest assured: this motorbike helmet is perfectly equipped for that, with cut-outs for your glasses.
A wide and well-fitting neck rim, the adjustable Microlock and the 'emergency'-system that allows to take off the helmet in case of emergency, illustrate that attention was paid to the details. A supplied wind deflector is removable, as is the wind curtain chin.
The SCORPION EXO-520 Air comes with a five-year warranty.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
