Thermal, technical underwear can serve a couple of purposes. It limits warming up and heating of the body in warm conditions or it serves as an additional thermal layer in cold conditions. In both cases, it absorbs perspiration.

And although that paragraph may suggest otherwise, we are talking about different shirts.

This thermal shirt by Dainese is used as an added thermal layer when it’s cold outside. Hence the red colour, referring to the heating effect of this motorcycle clothing. Dainese’ especially developed fibres with 5% elastane drain bodily fluids (sweating cools you down and we don’t want that here) and help your upper body to stay at the right temperature comfortably and freely.
