Description

Before you start draining any fluid, check out the Eurol product finder to find the correct and most suitable coolant for your specific motorcycle. There happen to be two different types, you know.

(Please note that not all motorcycles are included in this database. If your bike is not listed, please consult your owner's manual).

What does the cooling system do?

The cooling system is an important part of your motorcycle. Your engine heats up when it runs, but the cooling system keeps it from overheating. An overheated engine can crack in a worst case scenario, but even in the best case you will still be left with a badly damaged engine. It is important to use a good coolant to keep the cooling system functioning optimally.

Why use coolant?

You've undoubtedly heard someone say that you might as well use demineralised water in your motorcycle's cooling system, because coolant is 'no more than demineralised water with a few additives'. But of course it is much more than that. It's true that in the (amateur) racing world demineralised water is used instead of coolant, but there's only one reason for that. This way, in case of a crash no slippery coolant can end up on the track. In a street bike, and also in a track bike that doesn't have to comply to race regulations, you always use proper coolant. The cooling circuit of a race bike is also drained and cleaned during the winter season, which is not the case for most motorcycles. After all, water can cause a lot of damage (corrosion, limescale deposits) and in freezing temperatures a water filled pipe can freeze and burst. Eurol Coolant -36 G11 is a universal, long-life coolant of the latest generation protecting the cooling system against freezing in temperatures of down to -36°C. This coolant is suitable for all liquid-cooled combustion engines. It protects both aluminium and steel engines against corrosion and frost all year round and down to temperatures of -36°C. Eurol Coolant -36 G11 contains a mixture of inhibitors that protects against corrosion in engine parts such as the radiator, cylinder block and water pump.

Attention!

  • Change coolant only when the engine is cold.
  • Always use undiluted coolant, never add water.

Don't know which coolant should go in your engine? Then completely replace all of it.
