The OptiMate MONITOR O-126 is a smart adapter and monitor that you plug into the 12V power socket of your motorcycle, car, quad or boat. On the other end is an SAE connector to which you can hook up a charger or other accessory. The real added value sits in between: an integrated LED monitor that shows battery status and checks whether the charging system is still working properly.
The plug fits both standard AUTO sockets (Ø21 mm) and smaller DIN sockets (Ø12 mm) as found on many motorbikes. The monitor uses four LEDs.
When the engine is off, these LEDs blink every three seconds to indicate the charge level of your battery, whether it is a 12V lead-acid battery (standard, AGM, gel) or a 12.8V lithium LFP battery. When the engine is running, the system switches to an arrow mode: a green LED means charging voltage is at least 13.5V, with anything above 14V considered ideal.
The OptiMate MONITOR O-126 is 25 cm long and remains flexible down to -40°C. The SAE outlet is protected by a waterproof rubber cap.
It is a handy extra instrument for anyone wanting to regularly check whether the battery is still healthy without a multimeter or extra hassle, or to confirm the bike’s charging system is still doing its job after a long break.
