This third version of the Valparaiso - also a colorful city in Chile - fits just like the Bogota and the Andes in the touring line of Alpinestars and is part of a top combination. Both for men and women, where this 'Stella' as usual is made specifically for the ladies.
The main innovation is an all-round overhaul of the design, which especially on anatomical level gives a kind of extra boost to the long rides. This was already the case with the men's version and it's just as much of a fact with the women's version. The more relaxed and comfortable the rider, the more pleasant and less tiring the ride. No lack of expertise and know-how of course. Alpinestars is a familiar name in the sporty segment and it was only a matter of time before - in style - the road to adventure was taken.
The exterior of the Stella Valparaiso V3 Drystar Pants consists of a smart, tear and abrasion resistant combination of textile materials. The same goes for the jacket of the same name, although the pants have extra leather panels where the lower body and the motorcycle - assuming a relatively 'normal' sitting position - come into contact.
Versatility is the key to this 3-in-1 biker jacket, so the Stella Valparaiso V3 Drystar hides a removable, waterproof and breathable Drystar membrane under the outer shell. One layer lower you find the equally removable thermal lining, which keeps you warm on the coldest days of the year. Of course, the reverse is also possible: the renewed ventilation system focuses on the upper legs, where riding wind can create the most effect.
The combination of all that - from hot to cold and back - is more than enough to make the Stella Valparaiso V3 Drystar all-round biker's pants. The range of climatic ambitions that Alpinestars wants to face, perhaps explains the choice of the name. In and around the Andes the weather can change. So you might want to have something to take with you, and then the two slit pockets and especially the two cargo pockets come in handy.
Although touring pants are not racing pants, it can feel quite tight nowadays. We already mentioned the revised design, and 'tightening' is also what you can do with the belt at waist level. On the calves (velcro) you can vary in function of boots, membranes, liners, other pants ... It ensures that 'not sitting well' is not an option.
Protection material is present in the form of Alpinestars' own (soft) level 2 knee protection. These are of course CE-certified. The presence of Alpinestars Nucleon KR hip protection is also an added value. The reflective details are discreet but clearly present and provide good visibility in adverse conditions.
With the Stella Valparaiso V3 Drystar we find ourselves in the segment of the top, in other words, and top performers do not disappoint on any level.
