Description

Before you start draining any fluid, check out the Eurol product finder to find the right and most suitable coolant for your specific motorcycle. In fact, there are two different types.

What does the cooling system do?

The cooling system is an important part of your motorcycle. It helps to keep your engine from overheating. An overheated engine can, at worst, grind to a halt, but even in the best case you will still be left with a damaged engine. For optimal functioning of the cooling system, it is therefore important that you use a proper coolant.

Why use coolant?

Some people spread the opinion that demineralised water is all you need in your motorcycle's cooling system, as cooling fluid is just that, with a few additives. But of course it is much more than that. It is true that sometimes racing engines are cooled with just demineralised water instead of coolant, but that has a specific reason. This way, in case of a crash no slippery coolant will end up on the track. Also, the cooling circuits of race engines are emptied and cleaned in the winter season, which is not the case with most motorcycles. In a street bike, and also in a track bike that doesn't have to comply with race regulations, you should always use a proper coolant. Water alone can cause a lot of damage (corrosion, limescale) and in freezing weather a water-filled pipe can burst.

Eurol Coolant 36 XL is a universal, long-life cooling liquid of the latest generation that protects the cooling system against freezing weather down to -36°C. This coolant is suitable for all water-cooled combustion engines. It prevents limescale deposits and offers excellent protection against cavitation and corrosion. It goes without saying that Eurol Coolant 36XL is safe for rubbers, plastics, metals and aluminium (alloys).

Take care!

  • Change coolant only when the engine is cold
  • Always use coolant undiluted, never add water.
  • Eurol Coolant 36XL is miscible with all commercial coolants based on mono-ethylene glycol.

You don't know which coolant your motorcycle contains? Then replacing it completely is far better than topping it up with possibly the wrong product.
