The X30 flip-back modular helmet from GIVI fits perfectly into the current trend for functional and versatile motorcycle helmets. This modular model is constructed from high-quality thermoplastic, striking a fine balance between weight and protection.
Its flip-up chin bar gives you the flexibility to use the motorcycle helmet as either a full-face or jet helmet, depending on your preference or the riding conditions. Thanks to its dual P/J homologation, you're legally allowed to ride with the chin bar in either position. And while you'd think ventilation might be less of a concern in an open configuration, the X30 still features a top air intake and another on the chin bar, with an air outlet at the rear ensuring proper airflow throughout. This ventilation system keeps your head cool on longer rides.
You control the chin and top ventilation (open or closed) using a simple sliding mechanism. If you’ve never ridden with a modular helmet before, the wider-than-average chin bar may take a moment to get used to. The mechanism to flip the motorcycle helmet open is easily located in the centre at the bottom of the chin guard, operated via a red central button. Once open, the locking lever on the right side securely holds the chin piece in the raised position. The whole system is glove-friendly and straightforward to operate.
The clear visor is Pinlock 70-ready, with the lens included in the box, effectively preventing fogging during your motorcycle rides. You’ll find the visor tab at the top, rather than at the usual lower edge, which might take a short adjustment period. A drop-down internal sun visor shields your eyes from bright sunlight, with the slider positioned on the lower left side.
This motorcycle helmet fully complies with the latest ECE 22.06 standard, ensuring a higher level of safety through stricter testing for energy absorption, penetration resistance, and chin strap integrity.
Inside, the X30 features a comfortable, antibacterial lining that’s removable, washable, and glasses-friendly thanks to cutouts at the temples. The micrometric closure system is adjustable and integrated into a soft, wide chin strap for added comfort.
A removable chin curtain and breath deflector provide extra comfort and protection from wind.
No kit of reflective stickers is included in the box. The application of these stickers is mandatory in France. Reflective helmet stickers can be found here.
Some maintenance tips: The helmet interior can also be cleaned without removing it, with S100 interior cleaner. The exterior of the helmet is best cleaned with S100 helmet and visor cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X water-repellent spray. Safety above all!
Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and oncoming headlights. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
