With a name like this, adventure is just around the corner. Especially in spring or autumn, because this Stelvio Light from Hevik is a motorcycle jacket that lends itself perfectly to waterproof riding pleasure.
The observant Hevik fan will notice that there was a Stelvio before, and that this is a Stelvio Light. Right as a well carved hairpin in second gear (viewing technique!). The Stelvio Light is very similar to its predecessor, but with slightly different material choices here and there, they manage to lower the price a bit, while nothing of quality is sacrificed.
With 48 bends ahead, the Stelvio Light is an excellent travel companion. The 2-in-1 received an abrasion and tear resistant 600D polyester outer shell, which is not a bad basis for building a mountain monster. This motorcycle jacket also manages to be a bit lighter, which is always pleasant, both at the coat rack and over your shoulders. Especially when it never goes up less than 5%. A (not removable) waterproof membrane keeps you dry from your toes to the top. Do you feel the temperature dip after every hairpin bend, you can use the (removable) thermal lining. With 1833 altimeters spread over 22 km, not a superfluous luxury. Down in Prato you might start with the "Dynamic Air Intake”, in the form of zippered vents on the chest and back, almost 'completely open’.
Hevik manages to keep the Stelvio Light fun and comfortable. This is not extra ballast to drag up the mountain. On the contrary, the lightweight materials and centered touring cut keep it tight. With an extra strap on the left and right you can tighten things up a bit. Press studs on the upper arms and velcro on the sleeve ends have the same function. The collar (with a soft neoprene finish) also has a double press stud.
For this price this is a strong, robust and versatile jacket. The elbow and shoulder protectors (EN 1621:2012, level 2) are obviously CE certified. However, they are not a hindrance. Those who have a wild descent in mind, can choose to add a D3O back protector.
The reflecting material does not distract during the day. Storage space comes in the form of a whole range of inner pockets and two spacious front storage pockets. Combination with Hevik pants is possible thanks to the connection zipper.
