The brown Carlson from Modeka is a seemingly weathered leather motorcycle jacket for on and off the bike. All modern functionalities are present, while the style feels vintage and retro.
A bit of relief in the form of an extra layer of leather on the shoulders gives this short cowhide jacket a vintage, tougher look. Two ventilation zippers at chest level suggest that the Carlson is more suitable for summer use. Water and leather are not the best of friends anyway, so we consider this to be the better riding period of the year.
You can feel a leather jacket. The slightly centered cut keeps it tight and that's the way it should be. Keep in mind that leather motorcycle clothing still settles a bit and adapts to the body, so especially at the first fitting this is something to keep in mind.
The Carlson is light and flexible. The two chest pockets with press buttons, the double ventilation zipper and the central zipper determine the look and thanks to the two slit pockets with zippers and inner pockets, the available storage space is definitely close to 'ample'. A zip at the sleeve ends lets you choose whether you want to wear your gloves on top or underneath. The collar closes with a press button.
Shoulders and elbows received certified protectors. No 'shells', but EN1621-1 specimens of the flexible variety. The foam rubber standard back protector can easily be replaced by an SAS-TEC® version.
The Carlson comes with a jeans loop, which allows you to attach the jacket to your belt. The combination with a good pair of motorbike jeans is obvious.
Below you will find an overview per jacket size of the appropriate CE homologated SAS-TEC®back protector.
