The Baker is a supple leather motorcycle jacket for fans of a vintage, classic, retro... look and style. A little pilot. Those first street races. Back to the second half of the 1940s.
Just to note: in the second half of the 1940s, motorcycles did not travel 300 kilometres per hour. So this is not a jacket to record sharper lap times. Cruising leisurely on that café racer or custom, that will feel more pleasant.
The Baker consists for the biggest part of supple cow leather. The polyester is more contemporary, and that combination feels nice and comfortable as a whole. The exterior - in blue and dirty white - is more striking than you're used to in 2019, but you may as well be on a standout bike.
What you see is what's there, it pretty much comes down to that. Don't look for membranes. No thermal lining. In the 1940s there were two options: on or off. Done. Actually, Held did make a concession, because the central zipper is a HELD ACS system, which means that under the central zipper a perforated second flap with zipper is hidden. If you leave the outside open, then your jacket remains closed and the wind can have free play.
The Held Clip-In Technology is also contemporary. But apart from that it is pretty basic. Although that is also relative. Press buttons, good zippers, four chest- and side pockets, plus two inner pockets, adjustment storage pockets, adjustment options on the hips, the option to fit chest protectors, provision for a back protector ... When we list it like this, it's worth a lot. The men of the 1940's wouldn't know what hit them.
Impact protection comes in the form of shoulder and elbow protection. SAS-TEC is the variant that Held prefers to integrate and in the Baker they are flexible and slim.
There is a connection zipper, so combination with the Held range is obvious. On the other hand, a good pair of motorcycle jeans might be preferable in this case.
