The Inland Quilted doesn’t look like most motorcycle jackets. The stitched, chequered design combined with the looks of a proper shirt turn this very pleasant and comfortable motorcycle jacket into a summer’s delight. A motorcycle jacket for those who love something different and would maybe even take off without a motorcycle jacket.
The exterior is a combination of twill cotton, polyester and synthetic nubuck. Firmer than you would expect at first glance, stretchier than it looks and a warranty for sufficient protective properties. Aramid on the back, shoulders and elbows ensure an extra wear-resistant layer in all the useful places. The total package is quite something. Especially when it comes to comfort.
Internally, it’s the mesh lining that takes care of the perfectly controllable climate control: fresh, ventilated and breathing is how you could summarise the Inland Quilted. You shouldn’t expect waterproofness or an additional thermal lining. This is summery motorcycle gear, no doubt about that.
The visual style suggests it’s a shirt but the row of pushbuttons hides a solid central zipper and also the cuff hides a sleeve end with zip. Full-blown motorcycle equipment in other words, something that is even more emphasised in the back by the longer cut lower back. Then again, the collar will make you doubt yourself again, which is by no means necessary.
RISC (Level 1 CE-certified) shoulder and elbow protectors offer additional protection and for those who want more, the RISC back protector is always an option. Four outer pockets and a napoleon pocket offer sufficient storage space. It should fit quite snugly so it’s best not to carry half your belongings.
The Inland Quilted by Macna comes completely into its own in an urban environment. The Belt Loop is easy to use and combined with decent motorcycle jeans and a pair of firm motorcycle sneakers, you can take to the road without a care.
