The Eclipse is an excellent and optimally ventilated summer jacket for men. Safety and comfort go hand in hand here, and have been incorporated into a jacket with adjustment options. This male version has a female counterpart.
The same principle applies to both. "Make it as simple as necessary, but not simpler." Albert Einstein once said it and in fact it applies perfectly to the Eclipse. Although the name suggests the disappearance of the sun, it is absolutely allowed to shine when you hit the road in this summer jacket.
The exterior is made of mesh: wind permeable, light and therefore fully ventilated. However, you don't have to compromise on safety, because all impact zones (shoulders, back and arms) are made of 600D, a durable polyester. This combination makes all membranes and ventilation zippers completely superfluous, which brings us back to Einstein.
But there's more going on underneath, because a motorcycle jacket is still just a little bit more than a piece of durable fabric over your shoulders. The Knox® Lite CE-protectors on the shoulders and elbows are of high quality, and those who wish to do so can quickly and easily integrate a SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector - Type RV. Everything is provided for that. In the same theme, a laminated, reflective back logo gives you even more visibility.
The Eclipse's cut is short. Typical REV'IT, although it's not an option to aim for the smallest possible jacket and have it reach halfway up your legs. No, short is the way to go, and with two belt loops you can easily and comfortably prevent bulging of the jacket during the ride with an exposed lower back. The fit is one for quiet(er) touring. Freedom of movement and a bit of space, although the latter remains a completely individual choice. With a collar with snap button, an extra button on the upper arms and velcro strips on the sleeve ends and waist you can adjust to your own comfort.
There is storage space in the two zippered side pockets and inside pocket.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So, invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer. We put the best tips & tricks on this maintenance page.
