The waterproof Fusion 2 GTX gloves are road maniacs, that especially in combination with heated grips, throw their assets on the table.
To clarify the first sentence, we go through the construction of the Fusion 2 GTX from the inside out: The Exkin® Platinum lining on the back of the hand prevents the heat from the grips from escaping. Like a lid on a jar, the contents - your hands - stay warm longer. A clever idea and an important step in the right direction in the search for the - difficult - balance between warm hands, good gloves, protection, grip and steering feel, the weather elements ... and so on.
The Fusion 2 GTX has a lining that consists of a high-loft fur lining and THERMOLITE® Plus, with the Exkin® Platinum insulation as an added bonus. On top of that - from the inside out, we said - lies a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX membrane. If there is one thing that comes close to the ideal waterproof formula, this pretty much has to be it. This is how we reach the outer layer of these motorcycle gloves, which is a mix of goatskin leather and textile.
That phrase, by the way, does the whole thing a disservice, because REV'IT! thinks and works in 'protection' terms, which, almost by definition, makes their motorcycle gloves wear-resistant and tear-resistant. For the techies: the Fusion 2 GTX consists - on the outside - of coloured goatskin leather with WR finish, a PWR shell 500D twill stretch, a piece of PWR|shell 500D and a piece of PWR|shell stretch, material with PU coating and leather for conductive fingertips. Great list, and we have another one, which clearly shows that the integrated protective material is quality material: PWR|Shell 500D Hard-shell Knuckle with Twill Stretch finish, TPU hard shell palm slider, the PWR|shell 500D twill stretch-covered TPR finger knuckle protectors, an EVA foam thumb knuckle and Temperfoam®.
In one sentence? And human language? The combination of textile and leather, plus all the other hard-wearing materials, keeps hands safe without compromising the look and feel of this strong glove.
These motorcycle gloves have a style that goes with everything 'touring', and their technical baggage makes them a pleasure to wear. The elasticated wrist, the presence of stretch sections, conductive fingertips and grip, the visor wiper and the cuff that reaches a piece of the wrist all contribute to this.
