Size recommendation: We did the test for you. This motorcycle footwear follows the size chart of regular shoes. You can assume that the size chart is pretty traditional.
The Alpinestars Gunner Waterproof is a low motorcycle boot with a shaft height of 15 centimeters. For that long trip to the South as well as for short, everyday use, this is a much-appreciated, user-friendly shoe.
With a little (good or bad) will you can see a summer shoe in this, but the Gunner is indeed a full-fledged all-round touring boot. With a new shape and better ergonomics, it's even one of the comfortable kinds. Never make a judgement based on your first impression.
The exterior consists of synthetic material with durable microfiber. Parts of it are perforated, although the Gunner is definitely waterproof. At the back, the long accordion area and the cutout at the level of the tendon stand out. In the details - ventilation at the back of the heel - you can see the racing roots of Alpinestars, although much of the technology is internal, in the form of optimal and high-quality protection on heel, toe, ankle and shin. The Gunner is a constant balancing act between dexterity, comfort and safety, with each of the three at a high level.
Equally invisible are all the efforts made in terms of ergonomics. The sole, the anatomical and removable footbed, the well-finished and comfortable lining that extends to the top of the boot, it's all there. Add to that, the waterproof and breathable qualities of the integrated membrane and you know: this is a top boot.
Light, comfortable, with a vulcanized sole and shift reinforcement, this is a low boot for everyday use. Getting in and out of the boot is easy, thanks to the double velcro fastener.
