The “Battery life” specification indicates how long the GPS unit can operate on a full battery. For most motorcycle GPS devices, battery life is of less concern, as they come with an active mount that connects the unit directly to the motorcycle’s battery. Lane Guard indicates whether the GPS unit clearly shows which lane to take at junctions, exits, and merge lanes. This helps you position yourself in advance and makes navigating busy roads and complex intersections much easier and safer.

This specification indicates whether the GPS unit can play voice navigation prompts. This can be done in several ways:

• Yes: instructions can be heard via a built-in speaker or a connected intercom.
• No: the device does not provide spoken instructions.
• Only via connected intercom: some GPS units do not have a built-in speaker and can only play instructions through a connected intercom.

This specification indicates whether the GPS unit supports hands-free calling. It allows you to answer incoming calls from a paired smartphone directly via the GPS device. To hear the calls while riding, a connected helmet intercom is required. The unit displays who is calling, enabling safe and convenient communication.

This specification indicates whether the GPS unit comes with a car mount and charger for in-car use. Depending on the device, this can be:

• Yes: all accessories are included to use the GPS in the car.
• Optional: accessories can be purchased separately to use the GPS in the car.
• No: the device cannot be used in the car.

This specification indicates whether the GPS unit can be protected against theft by locking it in the mount. This is useful if you leave your GPS on the motorcycle, ensuring it cannot be stolen. Depending on the device, this can be:

• Yes: the GPS can be locked in the mount.
• No: there is no option to lock the device.
• Optional: the locking function can be purchased as an additional accessory.

This specification indicates whether the GPS unit can be used not only in the standard landscape orientation but also in portrait orientation. Both orientations have advantages: landscape provides more space for additional information, while portrait makes the route more visible.
