With the Sport RS-100 IXS offers you a very budget friendly racing boot. In microfiber - and therefore no leather - but an excellent option for many reasons.
The first reason is obvious: for this price you won't find any other racing boot that looks like a racing boot. The suspicious reader will immediately wonder where IXS saves money on to make that possible, and then we have to step on the brakes. Which works just fine with the right-side Sport RS-100.
These motorcycle boots are made of a durable, matte black microfiber. And thus, not made of leather. With the breathable mesh-lining on the inside, you can speak of a pleasant interior climate. We don't expect it to be waterproof, and it doesn't have to be freezing, but when the track is accessible on two wheels, it's actually quite suitable. And low in the corners. The replaceable toe glider in black aluminum is the best indication. Made to hit the curbs, that's for sure.
It's best to limit the contact between the track and the Sport RS-100 boot to the toe spacer, but should you land next to your bike, you can count on the impact protection IXS provides. From top to bottom: the TPU shin plate with vents is a shiny eye-catcher. The padding on the inside fits well to your race suit or motorcycle pants. TPU is also found on the ankle and on the back of the heel. Externally, indeed. But there's more to it, something you'll clearly feel when you try to press the toe, especially at the front. And while you're at it, note the rubber shift reinforcement that provides excellent grip.
The Sport RS-100 motorcycle boots fit well, and the footbed has something to do with that. Along with the breathable lining and distinct accordion pieces front and back, that makes for an agile, enjoyable motorcycle boot. To sit on the motorcycle. Not for walking twenty kilometers. The zipper on the inside of your leg goes up to the rubber, wear-resistant sole. At the top, you hide the (velcro-) puller behind the flap that secures your lower leg at the same time. The V-shaped stretch strip in that flap makes a difference.
This motorcycle boot is between 28 and 31 centimeters high, depending on whether you measure at the calf or shin. The safety rating is EN13634:2017.
