Motorcycle manufacturers take many factors into account when designing a motorcycle. Effective protection against the wind often seems to have been an afterthought, sometimes not even that. This is why, after a while, many motorcyclists decide to fit a windscreen or wind deflector befitting their needs.

Better wind protection means greater riding comfort, and replacement screens are often larger and higher than the original ones. They are also easy to fit, as new windscreens can usually be attached to the original mounting points, using the original mounting hardware.
