Wear-resistant fabric
Understanding this product specification
The “Wear-resistant fabric” specification indicates how the motorcycle jeans are reinforced to provide protection in the event of a fall.
- Interwoven: the wear-resistant fibers are integrated directly into the denim. The jeans consist of a single layer that feels light, flexible, and breathable. This construction closely approximates the comfort of regular jeans and is especially suitable for warmer conditions.
- Second layer: the motorcycle jeans feature an additional wear-resistant lining, usually over critical zones such as the seat, hips, and knees. This extra layer increases protection but generally makes the jeans slightly thicker and warmer than a fully interwoven construction.
- Interwoven and second layer: both techniques are combined: wear-resistant fibers in the main layer plus extra reinforcements in impact zones. This provides very high wear resistance and maximum protection.
