The origin of the name Daiji is in the East. Whether you want to go there with this excellent pair of trousers, is up to you. That they are an added value if you get on your bike often, is a certainty. That they fit in every wardrobe, is also a certainty.
’AS-DSL' stands for the collaboration between Alpinestars and Diesel and as often happens when two top brands in their profession join forces, this delivers a nice result. Alpinestars has been catching up on a lot of things when it comes to motorcycle jeans, and this AS-DSL Daiji is one example of that. The literal proximity of Diesel - near Alpinestars' Italian production unit - is clearly an asset.
These Daiji Riding Denim motorcycle jeans look like they've been worn for a couple of days already, and of course that's totally the point. The main component is - logically - denim with aramid fibers interwoven. This means not too many layers or warm linings, but a so-called 'mono-layer'. The strong, durable outer shell is fitted with pre-shaped pant legs and triple safety seams.
Because sitting on a motorcycle is different from sitting in a chair, Alpinestars integrated an extra, soft layer at the seat and the knees. There where friction occurs, or where your seat and your butt make contact for a long time. A comfort-enhancing element, in other words. Together with the ergonomic construction, which for example takes into account the bending of the knee, this results in a great product. Both visually and content-wise.
The cut is 'regular fit', which actually means 'straight down'. Hence, with a little curve, because of the preformed shape. At the bottom it doesn't open wide, which doesn't always make it possible to combine with boots.
The traditional jeans characteristics are Diesel’s field of expertise: five pockets, a good button, a zipper. The integration of a pair of Nucleon Flex Plus knee protectors comes from Alpinestars. Fitting hip protection is optional but can be done perfectly.
Good, safe, very protective and - it must be said - a class more stylish than anything the Italian manufacturer has had in the motorcycle jeans range until recently, that's how we would describe this AS-DSL Daiji. The reflective accent is hidden within the logo.
