This IXS114 3.0 motorcycle helmet is sporty, aerodynamic and very light. With the sun peak, the integrated sun visor and all the modern features of a contemporary jet helmet, this is - look at that price! - always an excellent buy.
The helmet shell in polycarbonate includes all helmet sizes. In this case the result always remains compact. The helmet shell of the IXS114 3.0 is specific, with a notable kink in the neckline and possibilities to wear an extra pair of goggles if required. That only increases the possibilities, but let us start at the beginning.
Top ventilation allows riding wind to pass through a double opening that you can control (each separately) with sliders. Four rear outlets with grilles offer a way out. Add to that the integrated sun visor and look on the scales to the 1050 grams that appears there. There is very little to say about that. Strong performance, though. The sun visor is operated simply by moving it up and down directly.
The sun visor is - considering a short internal study - at its best where it is placed: on the motorcycle helmet. Of course, you can also remove it, but we’d like to think that you wear the IXS114 3.0 partly because of the sun visor.
Spectacle wearers will be happy with the comfortable cutouts in the lining, which is of course removable and washable. The micrometric closure can be adjusted. The neck rim is spacious enough to be comfortable and with an eye for detail.
In some countries (e.g. France) it is mandatory to have reflective stickers on your helmet. The iXS 114 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Do you dread disassembling the interior of your helmet to order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
