You can't reduce a motorcycle helmet to the absolute basics much better than this. Although, the iXS 880 consists of a helmet shell - obviously - which actually hides an integrated sun visor.
That helmet shell is made of polycarbonate and a single shell contains all helmet sizes. The matte lacquer technology is a real visual asset and because there is no question of any kind of ballast, the iXS 880 weighs about 1150 grams.
The integrated sun visor is no ballast at all. On the contrary: handy as it is, you will undoubtedly use it regularly. Operating it is like the jet helmet itself: simple. Just up and down, period. If you wish to add helmet goggles, you can: the leather loop with push button at the back of the iXS 880 is provided for that purpose.
The interior is removable and washable. A length-adjustable micrometric buckle ensures safety and wearer comfort. The latter is further enhanced by the soft chin strap.
Price-wise this is a motorcycle helmet that deserves your attention.
In some countries (e.g., France) it is compulsory to have reflective stickers on your helmet. The iXS 880 comes without these reflective decals. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
