The hooves of large mammals. A villain from the Batman stories. Three fingers and ‘virus’ in the name: our imaginations got the best of us for a while due to the atypical appearance of these rain covers; but that’s cutting them short, really.
We are used to five fingers and now all we see is three. That’s what kickstarted our imagination. The three ‘fingers’ reduce the total exterior surface to a minimum, still allowing for a wide array of motion and – for instance – riding with two fingers on the brake lever. It is a deliberate choice in the demanding search for dry hands on a motorcycle. With an exterior made of polyamide and elastic closures underneath the hand and on the wrist, the Virus 4.0 overglove is making a strong attempt, though.
For all intents and purposes, the Virus 4.0 is an overglove, to be worn over a pair of non-waterproof motorcycle gloves when water is pouring from the skies. Their size suggests you keep wearing your ‘regular’ motorcycle gloves underneath these puppies but the Virus 4.0 offer, apart from water, no additional (impact) protection. A practical storage bag (25 by 15 cm) keeps these overgloves nearby in case of need.
The size is simple: the size table of the overgloves corresponds unilaterally to the size table of your regular motorcycle gloves. Do you wear a size XL? Then your Virus 4.0 overgloves are probably XL too.
The palm and fingers of the overgloves are equipped with a tangible silicone relief to warrant grip on the handlebars. The black base colour contrasts with the clear silver reflective strip. It suggests the Virus 4.0 is best used in heavy, wet conditions. Conditions we believe, where they shine.
