A GORE-TEX® motorcycle boot that combines waterproofness with a high level of protection, it's not as easy as it looks. The DAINESE Freeland is an added value in the motorcycle landscape.
The Freeland is an elegant and at the same time robust - typically Italian - motorcycle boot with a microfiber exterior. Except for some classic exterior elements DAINESE does not bother to push the sportiness to the background. Why? It's the experience on the track that ultimately produces technologically strong motorcycle boots like these.
The trick to finding the right balance is to put enough soft elements in the right places and integrate as much protective material as possible. The accordion elements at the front and back are essential to keep everything flexible because with an external ankle reinforcement in TPU and also inside a clear 'hardness' on the ankle, this is a good and above all strong unit. The shin plate, the toe and heel can of course count on their own impact protection. DAINESE provided elastic inserts here and there, which also contribute to the comfort and flexibility.
The Freeland GORE-TEX® looks like leather but is not. The rubber outsole has a deliberate design and the TPU shifting reinforcement. Getting in and out of the shoe is almost like getting into a sock. The GORE-TEX® membrane of course only makes sense until you get to the first real opening, so that's about 20 centimeters high on the Freeland. Add to that a good 7 centimers of shaft and it’s clear how high the Freelander GORE-TEX® reaches. The zipper opens all the way around the inside of the boot, and is protected by a velcro flap.
The reflective elements coincide neatly with the GORE TEX® wording and the DAINESE speed devil.
