The SCORPION Covert-X is a 'transformer', or a jet helmet you can hide behind. Really, with a chin guard that doubles as a mask.
Seriously. The chin piece of this Covert-X is really just that. A mask. It blocks the wind and provides some warmth, but it creates a lot of 'coolness'. It can be mounted or removed very easily (push button) and with two integrated cover plates and an extra cover you can change the look of this motorcycle helmet in no time.
The helmet shell is made of fiberglass, which makes it light, with two helmet shells for different sizes. You can count on 1100 grams - with chin piece. That's a bit more than a mere 'bucket', but then this jet helmet also has an integrated sun visor. This is operated without slider; you just pull it down and then push it back up again. The flipped down, dark visor covers the complete helmet opening when the chin piece is mounted. If the standard shade is not enough for you, just replace it with the supplied dark one.
Kwickwick 3 refers to the interior: fully removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture management in a way that is more than reassuring. Even in warm conditions, by the way. The interior is 'limited' to the jet helmet. The chin piece is left 'naked', which - apart from a couple of striking vents - makes the need for a lot of extra air flow superfluous. On top, two more vents can be operated.
The Covert-X has something futuristic, reminds us of Stormtroopers but also has a military touch. Not to be taken for granted, but that is an advantage.
The closure is adjustable and micrometric. The SCORPION Covert-X comes with a five-year warranty.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. To clean the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
