In this new version, the GIVI Trekker Dolomiti side cases are equipped with the Monokey® mounting system. Their main advantage is that they fit just about every conceivable (tubular) holder system of GIVI such as PL, PLR, PLO, PLOR.
The quality and price ratio remain absolute top class. As with every Monokey® side box set, one set of keys is sufficient to do everything: opening, closing, fastening or loosening, left and right. GIVI also includes an extra cylinder lock for your top case if required, and then you can rest assured that a single key can operate all the locks.
Each Dolomiti is made in Italy and consists mainly of high-quality aluminum. With a capacity of 36 liters each you are on the road with a couple of tough guys. Guys, who of course have to stay in place at all times. Both on the road and when standing still.
GIVI therefore provides at least one 'feature' - patents pending - that we would like to clarify. The HOLD IT EASY® SYSTEM consists of an extra hook that prevents the case from suddenly hitting the ground after opening the lock. Operating everything with one key has its disadvantages. The hook keeps the case connected to the frame and you can even load and unload the contents without having to completely undo the side case. This can be handy when your bike is equipped with a large top case.
Furthermore GIVI rightly follows the principle that 'keeping what is good' gives the best results: with a capacity of 36 liters (twice) you can travel quite a distance with this case. However, the dimensions do not allow for a motorcycle helmet.
Besides the aluminum of the case and the stainless steel of the hinge, there is a third raw material: plastic. More specifically a reinforced techno polymer, with numerous possible extensions.
A series of optional accessories are available for this case:
- Inner bag: due to its complex construction, an Outback case is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T506 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also ensures greater comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Simply remove the inner bag (with everything inside) from your case and you're ready to go...
- Luggage nets: make good use of the space that the case lid has to offer on the inside. Mount a luggage net E144 and store lots of small items inside. The T10N or T11N luggage net can easily be attached to the top of the case.
- Thermal stainless steel drinking bottle: real adventurers sometimes get thirsty. With the E162 holder you attach a thermal stainless steel drinking bottle to the side of this Outback top case.
- Safety lock: this case is already standard equipped with a safety lock. Do you have multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all the cases and lock them all with the same key.
- Reflective stickers: To be more visible in the dark, a set of E145 reflective stickers is available. In vertical position, they fit perfectly on the flattened corners of these cases.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 liters that you can accommodate in the top shell of the case.
Maintenance tips: because this case is made of untreated aluminum, it needs a little more maintenance than a case made of plastic. For cleaning these cases we recommend S100 Moto Wash. NEVER use maintenance products that contain acids or other corrosive substances. Such products cause dark stains which are very difficult to remove afterwards.
Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
