AGV's K6 is pretty much the standard when it comes to full-face helmets. Versatile, whatever your riding style, and a sort of 'golden mean' between sport and touring. A lot of attention went to the interior, which is more than excellent in many areas.
The main component of the helmet shell is carbon-aramid. With - hold on - no less than four helmet shells to accommodate all helmet sizes, AGV keeps the weight of the K6 neatly under 1400 grams. AGV - active for 70 years and almost 25 years of being the helmet supplier to Valentino Rossi - tries to go further than many other motorcycle helmet manufacturers. Especially from a safety perspective and with a tradition in racing, they like to go beyond the standard.
In this respect the 'collarbone safe profile' stands out, whereby the bottom shape of the helmet prevents you from breaking your own collarbone in the event of a literal bump. The same profile (with two support points and a bow in the middle) makes a helmet donut no superfluous luxury.
With four vents up front, two on the chin and two at forehead level, you won't have any complaints on ventilation. At the back two outlet lead the wind back out. The four vents are easy to operate. Two easy-to-operate sliders on the chin piece and above the visor are sufficient.
There's quite a bit to tell about the interior: the cheek pads are specifically designed to make putting on the helmet (or taking it off) smooth, without much play. They are equipped with a safety system to remove them quickly in case of emergency. The entire interior is antibacterial, washable, sweat-absorbent, soft, comfortable and well thought out: spectacle-wearers will have no problems and with a removable wind deflector you have the possibility to adjust the K6 to your liking.
Special attention was paid to the visor. Anti-scratch, optical 'glass' of 4 mm, with a patented Extra Microlock System and a Micro-opening system - with a guaranteed small gap at the front - a lot has been thought of. The Pinlock® lens is included. ‘Ultravision' is also a focal point of every AGV motorcycle helmet: 190° horizontally and 85° vertically, those are the coordinates that should best fit your field of vision, according to the Italians. Good for a wide view of the road, curves and possible obstacles. Experience teaches us that it is mainly the speed of information processing, in addition to a good viewing technique in the less professional circles that makes the difference, although this certainly won’t hurt.
The soft and beautifully crafted Double-D ring buckle is adjustable and fits perfectly into the very neatly finished, wide neck rim.
For maintaining this helmet, we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
