The Air Crono - version 2 already - from DAINESE is a textile windproof motorcycle jacket. That means: almost completely ventilated and with its short, sporty style it is a sight to behold.
The recipe for a summer jacket is well-known: a durable chassis which protects you is the basis for as much mesh as possible. Add a dose of impact protection and top it off with a layer of comfort. You're all set.
Hardwearing D-Synth 350 textile, that's DAINESE's choice for the outer layer in this case. Where your body is most at risk of sliding across the asphalt. In all other areas, mesh is preferred: breathability and the inner layer with antibacterial properties also provides comfort when the going gets really tough. Ventilation openings are superfluous, just like thermal linings or membranes. That the Air Crono 2 is not waterproof is a logical consequence.
Impact protection is provided by CE-certified, level 1 protectors on the shoulders and elbows. These form a good line of defense. If you want to want to go one step further, then you can fit the Air Crono 2 with an optional back protector.
It suits the sporty, short cut of the Air Crono 2. Don't imagine a tight straitjacket: the Air Crono 2 is - although the name suggests otherwise if you spell it wrong - not a lap time decreaser, but it is a comfort increaser.
The waist has been given a couple of velcro straps, which provides extra adjustment possibilities. Upper and lower arms (push buttons) can be adjusted (slightly). Two slash pockets with zipper and two inner pockets make sure you have all your stuff close at hand. The reflective details are subtle, the speed demon on the chest is less so. And why would he be?
The Air Crono 2 has got a long connection zipper from DAINESE.
Below you will find an overview per jacket size of the appropriate CE homologated Dainese back protector.
