This helmet comes standard with a clear visor. Tinted and mirror visors are available as an option.
The versatile and adaptable SCORPION ADX-1 is a cross helmet that easily transforms into an aerodynamic touring helmet, to then be flipped up like the best flip-up helmets.
Two helmet shells in polycarbonate are the basis. All helmet sizes fit them, so this is a good way to start. Yet fully equipped, this is a lot of helmet, also on the scales. It weighs about 1600 grams and you can feel that weight more when it’s in your hands than when it’s on your head.
There's a lot contained in that weight. A lot. A foldable chin piece, a sun visor, an integrated sun visor and a transparent visor. And a ventilation system on top. Or underneath. In any case: the chin ventilation is as easy to operate with or without motorbike gloves with one big slider. The top ventilation is also easy to find, just behind the sun visor. Just press it. The incoming air cools the helmet and is then expelled via the rear air outlet. It's housed in a small spoiler and remains open at all times.
The transparent visor is ready to mount a Pinlock® lens with Maxvision and you'll find them in the box as well. With the term 'Speedview’ SCORPION is looking in the direction of an integrated sun visor. The slider sits left behind the hinge point of the transparent visor, where the chin guard hinges and where the sun visor attaches. Yet it remains surprisingly compact.
You don't have to choose with the SCORPION ADX-1. Everything works together. Warning: this helmet does not have dual P/J homologation so riding with the chin guard flipped up is not a good idea. You don't have to choose, but you can: if you prefer to put the sun visor aside, you can place the supplied attachments over the hinge points and it remains visually attractive.
Kwickwick 2 is about the interior: completely removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture management in a way that is more than reassuring. Even in warm conditions, by the way. When you see the word 'Kwikfit' in a text about SCORPION motorcycle helmets, you know as a spectacle-wearer that you can rest assured: this motorcycle helmet is perfectly designed for this, with cutouts for your glasses.
A wide and well-fitting neck rim and the adjustable Microlock illustrate that attention was paid to the details. The included wind curtain chin is removable.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to bring a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
