The Stella T-Kira V2 Air is a summery motorcycle jacket tailored to the female body. And before you get any ideas about it: it's not too complicated and that's exactly the intention. We just wanted to use that last sentence, because it's clear that the Stella T-Kira V2 Air is above all a classy motorcycle jacket.
’Stella' means 'all lady’ in the world of Alpinestars. Anatomically different and therefore not a smaller version of the men's motorcycle jacket. Apart from that, both men and women on the motorcycle have similar needs.
The Stella T-Kira V2 Air meets these needs. Don't be fooled by the mesh structure that is visible on the chest, back and arms: although excellently ventilated, there is definitely an extra layer. This is not a sieve for the road. It is still a motorcycle jacket worthy of the name. The 600 Denier shell provides a solid dose of wear- and tear-resistance, and the feeling of being protected without being affected by high temperatures is almost an ART in itself.
Although the Air rightly suggests that the focus is on good breathability and summer rides, with a good fleece under the Stella T-Kira V2 Air you can extend and broaden your range quite a bit. As soon as water comes into play, it's a different story, but between 'it's going to be a beautiful day' and 'oops, a downpour' there are a lot of enjoyable motorcycle kilometers. And there is indeed a waterproof version of this jacket.
Safety first, also in the Stella T-Kira V2 Air, so you can count on Nucleon Flex Plus protection on shoulders and elbows. For those who are less familiar with the exact characteristics of impact protection: soft, light, flexible and still good. Who wants to go one level higher, can easily fit the Alpinestars Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2 certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1 certified). And yes, also the recent Tech-Air® 5, Alpinestars own electronic airbag safety system, can be used in combination with the Stella T-Kira V2 Air.
As befits a motorcycle jacket with these ambitions, the cut is short, although you will not suffer from a cold lower back. The low collar is softly padded and with velcro at the waist and sleeve ends you can vary the fit a bit. The stretch accordion pieces on the shoulders do their job very well though, so you don't need endless adjustment possibilities.
A Napoleon pocket, two inner pockets and two outer zippered pockets provide necessary storage space. Reflective details do their job and keep it rather discreet during the day.
The combination with a good pair of motorcycle jeans is obvious. Hence the Belt Loop. There is also a waterproof version of the Stella T-Kira V2.
