More credible is the fact that Alpinestars takes the female anatomy as a starting point and then develops a handsome 2-in-1 motorcycle jacket around it. With 1.3 mm thick full grain cowhide leather as a base, you can’t go wrong in motorcycle circles. Especially when you alternate that perforated, strong and hard-wearing armor with enough stretch and accordion panels to keep it usable and comfortable. Moving around is no problem at all. That notwithstanding: the Stella Kira V2 is sharp in cut, with a pre-shaped fit, and so it should be. So don't give in too much, this motorcycle jacket 'settles' as time goes by and rider and jacket become one.
You get the option on the waist to go just a little bit tighter yourself, thanks to a push button left and right. This is especially useful when you leave the removable thermal lining at home. The waist is also slightly longer - especially at the back - than you'd expect from a purely sporty jacket. This again benefits the comfort, and it illustrates once more that the Kira V2 is a very pleasant jacket to wear every day. The two zip-off side pockets, the zip-off ventilation options and the reflective details are all signs of the road. And of versatility.
Safety first, also in the Stella Kira V2, so you can count on Nucleon Flex Plus protection on shoulders and elbows. For those who are less familiar with the exact characteristics of Alpinestars' own impact protection: soft, light, flexible, and still good. Who wants to go one level higher, can easily fit the Alpinestars Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2-certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1-certified) or Nucleon KR-R CELL back protector (level 2-certified, snap-on system) and chest pieces. And yes, also the recent Tech-Air® 5, Alpinestars' most recent electronic airbag safety system, can be used in combination with the Stella Kira V2.
The low collar is softly padded, the reflection is subtle and the long connection zipper leaves just about every combination possibility open. This is Alpinestars at its best.
