As the numbers go up (10, 20, 30K ...), so do the possibilities of each new SENA system. This '50' version is therefore the very pinnacle of the SENA system for the time being. The absolute top of the range when it comes to Intercom systems on motorcycles.
The SENA 50 consists of the SENA 50R and the SENA 50S, and the difference lies above all in the mounting and the design, with the corresponding controls.
This SENA 50R can be controlled manually by a + and a -. Two buttons, apart from all speech technology and voice control on board. Scrolling through the menus is thus done differently than with the 50S, where a wheel has the same function. A matter of preferences. The SENA 50R is attached directly to the helmet by means of a (fixed) adhesive or velcro. In the latter case, the intercom module is more practical to remove, something you do not have to worry about with the SENA 50S anyway, because it is in a holder.
With that, we have specified the biggest differences between the two.
The SENA 50R and SENA 50S feature HD speakers, can connect with up to 24 riders at the same time in Mesh Intercom, and use Bluetooth 5 as standard - another guarantee for fast, faster, fastest.
There is a new 'wifi cable' in the package. In concrete terms, this means: an extra module that is included in the charging cable and automatically 'downloads' the updates while you charge the device. Charge faster. A one-time Wi-Fi connection is all it takes.
Furthermore, SENA naturally continues to build on the familiar recipe that - for all intents and purposes - has always been the best. Only, as technology continues to evolve, so does SENA.
The 50R is available as a Single or Dual kit. SENA products carry a 2-year warranty and are firmware upgradable.
General note: The world of electronics (which also includes intercoms, smartphones, GPS, etc.) is changing so rapidly that some (outdated) devices may not be compatible with each other in certain areas. Unfortunately, the manufacturer can't provide us with data that shows which combinations between intercoms/GPS’s and/or smartphones cause problems. A regular update of all electronic devices is therefore desirable to avoid problems as much as possible.
