The Master GTX motorbike pants match (almost literally) the same motorbike jacket from IXS and the Swiss have come up with a number of 'specials’ that deserve extra attention. And these are in addition to the waterproof two layer-laminated GORE-TEX properties, indeed.
This Master GTX gets an ingenious and highly individual waist that can be adjusted by means of two wide velcro strips and the corresponding 'adjustment areas' offering a lot (6 per side) of centimeter variation. If you then link this to the practical (and quite innovative) iXS Magnetic Connection System (iMC) where you - with the help of the additional, in the jacket attached, red suspender system and magnetic connection - make a smooth connection between jacket and motorcycle pants, then you know that we focus on comfort, flexibility, wearing comfort and some very well thought out technical developments.
That's significant, because any other pair of motorcycle pants with a two-layer laminated GORE-TEX membrane would focus on that. Just because the presence of a laminated GORE-TEX membrane is in itself a phenomenal added value in a pair of pants of this caliber. Water slides right off, which keeps everything light and comfortable. The use of light but abrasion-resistant textiles, which are flexible and comfortable anyway, also helps of course. Inside the breathable mesh lining - assisted by a 'water barrier' - ensures a pleasant climate and with the removable thermal lining you can literally put an extra layer on top. Conversely, of course, you also want to allow riding wind and then the two vents on the upper leg quickly come into play.
The anti-slip area on the seat is about the only thing that interrupts the pretty even appearance of the Master GTX. No accordion, no heavily bulging knee protectors, no eye-catching features. Even the - nevertheless sturdy - closure with slider, push button and zipper is barely noticeable. As biker's pants the Master GTX actually looks quite 'low key', but make no mistake: this is top level.
And practical, too: the (slightly) flared pant legs with zippers and velcro make sure getting in and out of the pants is easy and smooth, even with motor boots on your feet. With two (not very big, but they can be zipped up) outer pockets you can take something with you. An extra set of (removable and adjustable) suspenders come standard and of course you can find some clear reflective strips on the lower legs.
Impact protection is available in the form of (level 2, EN1621-1:2012) 'impacTec TP-02’ knee protectors, which are adjustable in height. The ‘impacTec ETP-03’ hip protectors (EN1621-1:2012, level 1) are also standard in a pair of motorbike pants of this level.
