At the time, the Shark Skwal was a totally redesigned full-face helmet with innovative LED lighting. Today Shark produces the Skwal 2, a successor that has progressed immensely. Tighter, better, sharper and more aggressive. The unique, rechargeable LED lighting system was largely retained and improved. Read: more noticeable for other traffic users.
The LED lighting is still integrated in the chin and top ventilation and at the back of the helmet, but the LED lights are bigger and brighter. In the different models they are respectively white or green colored. Here we are talking about white LED lights.
An electronic control module with integrated battery offers the possibility to let the led-lights burn continuously for ± 5 hours, or to let them blink for ± 10 hours, via a micro switch under the neck rim. The battery can be connected to a power source such as a PC, Smart Phone charger or powerbank using the USB cable provided.
Despite all its electronic extras, the Skwal 2 still only weighs 1450 grams. The injected thermoplastic that serves as the raw material for the outer shell is responsible for a lot of that. The different helmet sizes all fit into one helmet shell.
Whereas the original Skwal looked like a helmet with a few lights added, the Skwal 2 has a much tighter overall design. In this sharper design the brighter and larger LED lights come into their own. The fact that the Skwal 2 as a whole has had an aerodynamic makeover also helps. At the rear the neckline and low-profile spoiler are particularly noticeable. The combination of both is the result of a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) study and should therefore provide an optimal and stable response in riding conditions.
All new developments have been developed to a high level, but apart from that, the Shark Skwal 2 remains a safe and fully functional motorcycle helmet. With everything that goes with it. A good and healthy airflow, to name one. The central chin ventilation, which you can easily operate with gloves, is essential. Top ventilation comes in the form of a single opening that you can easily close (even on the road). At the back a spoiler with built-in opening ensures that the wind exits the helmet. Follow the wind flow and you'll find the lights: each of these vents is flanked by two LED lights.
The Skwal 2 has a clear anti-scratch visorand an standard integrated sun visor . The sun visor is operated by means of a system integrated into the left hinge of the visor. Both the visor and the mechanism behind it have been revised compared to the original Skwal. To avoid fogging, a Pinlock Max Vision is included in the box.
The removable, washable and hypoallergenic inner lining is easy to maintain. The inner shell is equipped to mount intercom speakers. Thanks to the Shark Easy fit system, this helmet is also easy to use for spectacle-wearers. The helmet has a length-adjustable, soft chin strap with a micrometric closure that can be adjusted very precisely. A well-designed neck edge reduces the risk of whiplash. The wind seal chin is not missing either.
The reflective stickers which are obligatory in France to stick on the helmet are included.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. To clean the interior, without having to remove it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.

Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip?
